Although it's never nice losing up and coming talented players everyone at the club would like to congratulate Charlie on the move and wish him every success as he takes on this exciting new challenge after also featuring for Leicester Tigers U19 this afternoon, underlining just how quickly his stock is rising.

After missing a significant part of last season’s Academy League campaign, as well as most of the school season during his time at Ampleforth, due to injury, we had hoped we might have Charlie available to us for a little longer.

However, following an impressive first-team debut in our last game at Selby, where he put in a solid performance and showed plenty of promise, and over the summer hit the tarmac and gym hard it was clear that other opportunities were beginning to come his way.

Now, he takes the next step in his development with a move to Leeds Tykes following a successful trial, where he will face the challenges and demands that come with stepping up to National 1.
