The RFU Game Management System (GMS) is the Rugby Football Union's central digital platform for administering grassroots rugby in England. It provides clubs, constituent bodies, volunteers, players, coaches, referees, and administrators with a single system to manage the day-to-day operations of the community game.

Key functions of the RFU GMS include:

Player registration – Managing annual player registrations for both adult and age-grade rugby.

Team and competition management – Creating teams, managing squads, scheduling fixtures, recording results, and administering leagues and competitions.

Match administration – Supporting Electronic Match Cards (EMCs), team selection, player eligibility checks, and match reporting.

Volunteer and workforce management – Maintaining records for coaches, referees, safeguarding officers, and other club volunteers, including qualifications, DBS status, and mandatory training.

Reporting and governance – Providing clubs and constituent bodies with reports, exports, and administrative tools to support governance, compliance, and decision-making.

The platform also allows individual participants to securely manage their personal information, update contact details, view their rugby profile, and maintain communication preferences. For club administrators, GMS serves as the primary operational system for managing player records, memberships, fixtures, competitions, and regulatory requirements across the season.

Overall, the RFU GMS acts as the authoritative database for community rugby in England, helping to ensure that player registration, competition administration, safeguarding, and club operations are managed consistently and efficiently across the grassroots game.
